Technology and Your Privacy
In this lesson, students will read about privacy and technology. The reading will describe what privacy is and why you should be concerned about protecting it. Then, it will describe some ways that you can protect your privacy in the digital age.
There are three objectives or goals of this exercise:
(1) Students become informed about the important issue of privacy and technology.
(2) They about how industry, government, and users are responding to this issue.
(3) They consider their own role in this issue.
This lesson is designed for high-school students or middle school students that need a challenge. The learning exercises are meant to be used in conjunction with the reading. They are designed so that they can be used together or separately depending on your time limitations. Most of the exercises could be completed individually, however they are designed to engage students in a discussion.
You can make this a paperless exercise by sending it to students in PDF form, and allowing them to use Tools > Annotate > Text in their PDF viewer.
Thank you for choosing this exercise!
