Christine Egan is a data science student attending the Flatiron School. In May 2019, Christine received her bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and Linguistics from Stony Brook University. In 2019, she wrote her honors thesis in philosophy “How the Brain Makes Mathematics”, which explored the origin of human cognition and why humans demonstrate unique behaviors such mathematics and language. Her research interests include the intersection between linguistics and philosophy, computational linguistics, technology and ethics, cognitive science, data science, and artificial intelligence. Due to her interest in technology and ethics, many of Christine’s lessons are designed to promote awareness of various ethical issues that arise as technology progresses.
